Corsair has just announced the launch of its latest addition to the highly successful MP600 Series NVMe SSDs, the MP600 MINI and MP600 CORE XT. The MP600 MINI measures a mere 30 mm long making it compatible with small handheld gaming devices like the Valve Steam Deck. With 1 TB of storage capacity and PCIe Gen4 speeds this is no lightweight SSD either. The second SSD Corsair announced is the MP600 CORE XT. This 80 mm long M.2 drive features capacities of 1, 2, and 4 TBs with PCIe Gen 4×4 performance.

Mobile devices like ultrabooks, tablets, and handheld gaming consoles are getting more popular each year. Even if we look only at handheld consoles, a year ago, we had one popular option: Steam Deck. Right now, there is also ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion GO, and soon MSI will join with their new product. Most of consoles and other devices are sold with lower capacity or simply slower storage, so it’s not a surprise that many owners think about replacing the storage, which more often is M.2 SSD in a user-friendly and tiny 2230 form factor. Samsung has been what I would consider a major player in the consumer SSD market for a couple of years now.
