So there is a bit of info thats required for this.
First of all, my network looks like this:
PFSense --> squid & dhcp --> wireless router
Squid handles DNS/DHCP, non-virtual clients pull ips fine regardless of the connection (wifi/wired).
However, when I fire up virtualbox and bridge to the wireless network, the vm never gets an IP, in fact I never actually see the dhcp request hit the server (from the server's point of view). I haven't done a wireshark yet but I was wondering if anyone has any clue whats going on. Plugging into the to a switch allows wired bridging to work as expected
The wierder thing is that if I join someone else's wireless network the vm pulls an IP just fine.
Anyone have any ideas?
