hi i want to buy one new soundcard and i am between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1

i dont know which to buy?

what is the difference between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1 ? and which is the best?
i want the soundcard for games, music and movies

That receiver accepts HDMI. Just get a HDMI cable to connect it to your PC.

The only sound card that will work is one with HDMI output, which is obsolete when every modern GPU has that functionality built in.

Whichever one you want. None of them are compatible with your receiver, so you'll only be able to use it with headphones.

jimn230 I would get the STX because of the ability to change out the op-amps and the full size headphone jacks. I haven't looked at the options of the STRIX, but the Essence can drive low impedance headphones. If you are hooking your system up for watching movies, I would still use HDMI as it can pass higher resolution audio.
