Will a socket 2066 cpu work in the smaller 1151 tool?

Nope
I think he means his i7-8700k and not his i9-7900x.

more on the 8700k. my 7900x is my main computer...for now. I have my eyes fixed on getting something from AMD. Thinking of either Ryzen or Thread Ripper.

Testing my NEW i9-7900x that I got from Johan45. I didn't have any throttling during the run. This could be why it scored better than my i9-9820x. I'll be delid the CPU shortly

It should hit ~4.7GHz on custom water at ~1.28V so test it some more. Set higher Tj, something like 105°C is probably max but still safe for the chip in quick benchmarks. The CPU voltage is almost the only thing that affects temps.

It looks like running it multiple times seems to help a bit.

Nice run...

But, what are the clock speeds? I see alot of posts with CPUz up but it lists the idle clock speeds. That isn't terribly useful information.

What can that CPU do under water as mine is?
