Like the title said, it's my turn for a Cheap Ride...Full of Thrills. Well, atleast that's what I would hoped for.

Never thought that I would buy this...but WTH...mobo combo from Fry's today ad:
i5-530 box + Biostar TH55B HD = $135 - $15 MIR = $120
I've never use mid nor high end GPU anyway...so that saved me $50 for an entry level GPU on top of it.

To run it, rams from my i5-750 will be borrowed. I already have a brand new 1TB Hitachi bought $59 on sale back in Nov....with an Antec Earthwatts 380W $19. (edit: actually was $29)
And a stock HSF with copper core unused from my i5-750 to finish it off.

I'll keep posted...with my cheap ride. :)

EDIT: A new CPU replaced.

Good lord... now that's what I like to call a bargain.. lucky you! :p

OK, here is my first quick run on XP mostly on AUTO.
Unable to boot into Windows at 180bclk....but 175bclk was fine without Vcore added.
I'm going to install Windows 7 and believed it or not, I do have another CM V8 being saving for that i7-930....guess not.
It looks like Coretemp does not functions properly as far as reporting temp in realtime. It probably is outdated.

in W7, go to start and type "msconfig" into your search field.
click on "Boot" and then on "Advanced"
click or unclick (whichever it is), the "number of processors" field.
Reboot the computer and it should work.

I've got one incoming that's the exact same batch. You get yours in San Diego?

I got it in the Bay Area.

I must have hit a wall on this board or something. Couldn't get pass 200bclk. Even at 196blck is shaky....otherwise at 195bclk is fine. Tried 21x205 but no avail.

Earlier it hit 80 degrees at 185bclk with i5-750's heatsink......CM V8 is on it now....20 degrees trimmed and not even at its full speed of 2000rpm. Going to test some more.

Well, this is the best that I can come up with this overclock.
22*197bclk and also overclocked IGP from its GPU clock of 733MHz to 1182MHz.

Not bad at all! Especially for a "cheap ride" :D

Thanks m8. I think what stops it going further is due to its IGP. But overall, it does feels quite snappy compared to my E84/E8500 at 4.25GHz.

Finalized. All power savings turned ON and lowest fan speed setting of 800rpm for quietness with 2hrs P95 sFFTs.
