LGA2011 and the X79 chipset brought a lot of good things: powerful 6-core CPUs, quad channel RAM, and 40 PCIe lanes. Gigabyte’s X79 line up consists of four motherboards; the UD3, UD5, UD7, and G1.Assassin2. We’ve already taken a look at the GA-X79-UD7, and today we’ll be looking at the GA-X79-UD3.

nice right up. Love my X58A-UD3R and love the look of the Black/Grey combo of the board. Im glad they are getting away from the white/blue theme. Seems like this would make a good board for 99% of the ppl like ya said.

Looks like an awesome board except for that screw touching the MOSFET. That creeps me out.

Have you tried using washers to stop the rubber from messing with the MOSFET?

Its not touching though..the washer, even of its not tgere looks like it wouldnt touch

The bottom SATA ports could still be used with a video card if you use cables with a right-angle connector.

Ha, this thread got buried over the weekend and I didn't even realize there were replies... :rofl:

The screw being so close is kinda weird, but it is isolated by the rubber washer.

Yeah, the bottom SATA could probably be used with right angled connectors while a dual slot card is in the 4th PCIe slot.

UPDATE:

- Fixed typo where I said G1.Sniper when it should have been G1.Assassin
- According to Gigabyte, the pre-F7 BIOSes were not recalled, they were just updated to much more stable versions
