Heh, this is my third 13.2 beta...beta 2 wasn't released publically to my knowledge; it was sent to us for reviewing the ARES II though.
On the plus side, they really are working hard to help optimize performance for recent and upcoming titles. While downloading betas may be annoying, they are always trying to improve!
Yeah, i did not FRAPS test 12.11 / 13.1 / BETA3 with 4x MSAA, All High, 16x AF... because it was just plain unplayable, i do mean a real mess on my poor 7870, was riving in agony....
Then AMD dropped this bombshell, i ran it again at the same settings and would you know it it was actually playable, this time i did run FRAPS.
4x MSAA, All High, 16x AF, 1920 x 1080P.
Frames: 27096 / Frame Time: 570948 / Min FPS: 27 / Max FPS: 70 / Avg FPS: 47.458.
GPU: 7870 @ 1140 / 1450
CPU: P-II x6 @ 4Ghz
I very much doubt the 50% is accurate, these things never are, but, while i did not FRAPS run on the older drivers, i don't think my Frame Rates got much past 30, if at all, whatever the percentage gain actually is, its huge. and quite impressive.
GTX 670 owners are not getting better frame rates than that in the thread we have going on OCUK, i think our green friends must be due a similar driver upgrade.

Don't ask me why the Latency Excel differs from the min-max-avg Excel
Ask FRAPS.
