I just hit 1.1GHz with a DURON 600, air cooled!

I don't know what happened to the subject line should read 1.1 GIG

I've had this chip since last Aug. It's been on three boards, an AZ11, an A7V and now this A7V133.

What more can I say?

DURON 600 @ 1100MHz!
122*9.5
ASUS A7V133
GLOBAL WIN 32, four case fans in a modified case
temps stable at 50/55C
256MBs PC133 MICRON RAM
WD 30G 7200 ATA 100 hdd
Plextor 12/10/32
12X DVD ROM
VOODO 3 3500 with TV tune
SOUND BLASTER LIVE! PLATINUM
56K modem
10/100 LINKSYS nic
on a LAN with cable and 3000K connection

As good as the A7V board is, the addition of the KT133A chipset makes all the difference. With the A7V I couldn't get the FSB over 110, now I can go to 140+. The 122MHz setting that I'm at now is the result of reaching for the 1100 mark. I don't know where I'm going to settle in yet. I've got run some benchmarks and see the results before I decide.

Now I've got to change my signature....again!

My experience with these chips, and this one in particular, has shown that the temperature probes on the ASUS boards are inaccurate to say the least. I've read that they are sometimes off 10c+.

This particular chip was running in the 55/60c range on the A7V. Keep in mind that the voltage is showing up at 1.92V. I just keep an eye on the temps and become concerned if they start rising unexpectedly.

Congrats, I"m trying to hit 1100 with my DUron 650 and Abit Kt7-Raid but 1080 is the fastest I can get with the windows open here in CHIcago with the nice wintery breeze chilling my comp.

1050 was the best I ever got from my 600, but that was strictly multiplier OC'ing. Got a KT7A on the way and will see how far it'll go with being able to OC both multiplier and FSB.

Hoot

I've reformatted and am doing a clean install of "ME" into it right now (up from '98SE), some say that it's more stable. "ME" is more stable on my AZ11 with 650 T-BIRD.

I'll see

nice!

you're right, the kt133a boards make a load of difference. just got enough money to buy one and my hdd died... 30gig ibm 75gxp down the tubes... :( so i have to buy a new one instead of my new board! :(
