I used flashing from widnows due to my faulty FDD frive but thanks to god everything worked just fine:D as overclocking, nothing changed. However I noticed faster boot time with higher HTT than before. Also cold boot problem seems to be fixed :) overall very happy and highly recommended.

couldn't have said it better :)

For the people using the 1.36MOD BIOS...stay with it...this offical BIOS has no extra overvolting options and NV/ATI Speed up is enabled by default...

Not a good BIOS for people that need the extra OV options and not a good BIOS for high OC's and benching...

1.36MOD is still the best all around OCing BIOS...

Agree, 1.36mod is best if you need higher voltages, however if you don't need hardcore voltages then 1.5 seems to be the best. My cpu is running at 1.36vcore (2500mhz) so there is sense to load 1.36.

I can run at 2.5Ghz at those same voltages...but if you notice what 1.65v gives me...see sig...

No offense Glock, but for a modest extra 10% more OC, I really don't see the logic of an 18% over volting of the CPU. I guess I'm a lousy overclocker, but I am happier running a 40% overclock at stock voltage, as I know my cpu will most likely not die prematurly. I wish I could say the same for myself. :D

I almost forgot to comment on this thread topic. It is an absolute disgrace that MSI should give us this half a**ed bios. With all of the freakin problems in this board they have the gall to to peddle this crap to their owners. MV/ATI speed up is now activated as default! Wow, big improvement. MSI is the worst mobo company on the planet, no, in the cosmos! They just proved it. I will be sending them a peace of my mind. They no doubt could use it! :bang head :argue:

18% OVO?...18% of 1.45 is 1.75v...13% is 1.65v ;)...most winnies cant take more then 15% and be stable...so that etxra .5v (1.45 +10% OVO = 1.6+/-v)...gets me to 2.75 completely stable...unlike 1.6v which only gets me to 2.7v stable...and that extra 50+ Mhz is that extra gain in most benchmarks...it actually took 2.77Ghz to break 27k...so if I hadnt of had that extra 13% OVO then I would of never been able to hit over 2.7 stable and would of stil been well under my 27k goal...

For me, its all about the marks right now ;)...

The more voltage the better in my opinion. I am all about pushing my system until it catches on fire. I don't know how many times I have corrupted my OS by pushing my system too far. As long as your cooling is adequate, your cpu will easily last as long as you need it to. I mean, who owns a CPU for more than 2~3 years. By increasing the voltage you are merely reducing the life expectancy of a CPU from like 15 years to 8 years. In my opinion, JUICE IT UP!

So you like to push your system to where the video card and CPU jump out to do the rain dance also...

All this talk of, "What is a safe voltage for my CPU?", makes me want to scream out, "YOU WUSSIES!!!!!" A safe voltage is right before your system starts to billow smoke. I am actually thinking about installing an exhaust pipe on the back of my case. I am definetely going to install a pull-start like they have on lawn mowers though.

I want to hear that confident speach after you burn you CPU. I already burned one barton core cpu that's why I'm not pushing cpu to the limits anymore. I learned my lesson and so would you.

BTW the cpu that I burned was cooled very well and vcore was at only 1.85.

Glock, the stock voltage of yor cpu is 1.4, not 1.45, and 1.65 is a .1785% over volt. (I did that in my head, but feel free to check it) I may be a poor overclocker but my math is first rate.
As for the benchmarks, to me they are meaningless. I have my system to edit music, cruise the net, and play a few games. My philosopy however, is whatever floats your boat. So, if bench marks are your thing then you are correct that every crumb of power is needed no matter how it's obtained.
However, we have lost sight of the subject of this thread. Again, I believe that after waiting several months for a new bios from MSI, this bios is a pathetic offering from a second rate mobo manufacturer. I am now on a mission to warn people about the nature of these boards and MSI.

I hear alot of complaints about the msi boards and I was 1 of them with the first board I purchased , even when I recieved my second under rma I wasnt please as it looked like I got a used board.Right now I am very happy with this board ,Its rock solid overclocked well.Sure there are a few things I would change about it but they are minor. As for a new bios I am quite happy with the 1.41 mod I am using.Maybe I just got a rare problem free board, but settings are very important with these boards as they are very picky.Just my 2 cents worth

Actually Etuke, mine is not one of the real bad ones either. It's just has a number of annoyances that could be fixed by a new bios. MSI shows zero initiative to do this. They just came out with a new 1.50 bios which seems to fix nothing. After a while the strange temp readings, a disappearing and re appearing optical drive, ever changing voltage readings, and an inability to clock above 295 fsb begin to take there cumulative toll. I have bought 2 MSI mobo's and 1 video card and all three products were shoddy and sub par. I will never buy any of their products again.
