In the next day or two I will have the oppertunity to get OCZ Enhanced Bandwidth Dual Channel Series Platinum Edition 184-Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3700 (gotta love copy and paste from Newegg). I hear that 1gb "feels" and performs smoother in games and whatnot but how much of an in-game and general performance difference are there between the gig in my top-sig machine at 240mhz dc 2-2-2-11-13-15 (double sided cpc-off) vs 512 of the EB hopefully at about 265+ Dc (or sc) at whatever timings I can get at that speed - from what I can tell, EB seem to use really loose timings and I don't know why - cpc-on.

Also, maybe someone can explain to me why EB ram use 3-3-2-8 timings and nothing tighter? Also when I see peoples oc with EB, they usualy only show their max speed and not timings. I was almost completely sure timings made a big difference...

I would stick with what you have if I were you. Firstly 240 2-2-2 is no mean feat, secondly, the drop from 1 gig to 512mb is too drastic for raw speed and timings to make up.

With EB, you can expect about 260ish, with 2-2-3 timings. They don't run CAS 2 well, but can run everything else completely tightened.

I was just hoping to get in the 250+ 2500+ club with my ram and Infinity... Maybe I'll go and do a 5v ram mod so I can pump over 3.3v through 'em. Sidenote: Does the Infinity feed ram off of the 5v automaticly?
