1 way cable modems?

hey, i have this friend who's stuck on 1 way cable. he has a modem from 3com which has since been discontinued and is plagued with problems. we were trying to find a replacement but can't seem to find a one-way cable modem anywhere. any advice?

One way cable is pretty much obsolete. About the only thing you can do is try the cable company and have them replace it, or EBay.

I have a hybrid multiuser cable modem that it pretty old and might be one way. Do some research on it and let me know if it is what you need. Bigair

i know it's mostly obsolete, but around here it isn't, the modem he has he got at a crappy local shop, got robbed for it and it was the only one in town. kind of a strange story, two way is available in the area but not for him.

big air, you got a brand name or model # on that thing? i don't mind seeing what i can find out about it.
