Is it bad if I run my 16meg G200 @ 100mhz AGP speed but at 1x? I can run it at 2x but that puts it @ 200mhz and 67 mhz over spec and I don't want to kill it. If its at 1x it puts it at 100mhz and closer to 133mhz(2x66) spec. Will I hurt If I am running it at 100 mhz agp but an 1x? Will I see a big difference between 2x and 1x because when I run Wintune i see no difference between 1 and 2x. Sometimes I see 1x better than 2x but normally it's the same. (If I have this whole 2x/1x AGP multiplier wrong just tell me.)

I'm not aware of any mobo's that run agp @ 100mhz. the 1x and 2x are tranfers per cycle as i remember, so 1x is one transfer a cycle and 2x is two. the default speed of the agp bus is 66mhz.
hope this helps you out.

The 440bx motherboards allow the AGP bus to be manually set, as the PCI bus divider. For the AGP you have a choice of 1/1, and 2/3. On the Pci you have 3 choices of 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4. Most video cards will run fine @ 90-95mhz 1/1. But once you go over 95, 2/3 will have to be set. For the PCI bus divider, when you are @ 66-78mhz, 1/2 is good. 1/3 when you are @ 79-118. 1/4 when you are @ 119+. I usually like to keep the PCI bus within 39mhz so that i don't get hard drive corruption.

You want to keep your AGP 2x always. I guess your video card can handle 100mhz in which case 1/1 divider should be just fine. Run a couple of video tests to verify stablility and you are good. Hope i helped.

Ya, thanks for your input. I am running it at 150mhz FSB at 2/3 which puts my AGP at 100mhz way above the 66mhz spec. I will run some tests to check stability. Will it hurt the card runnong it at this speed?

Running it at a speed of 100mhz, is just like overclocking it. i don't think it will hurt it. If it is stable, and no artifacts, it should work just fine, and not die.

Thanks for the replys, I am trying to get it to get it stable at 150mhz bus. I'll get it eventually.
