Hey all, I am getting a new SFII for my CPU, and I noticed how the bigger 120mm model offers more CFM. I was just wondering if it was a good candidate for a CPU fan.

This question may seem retarded, but I have read a while ago that too big is a no go for CPU cooling. Am using it with a SLK947-U. Thanks for any help.

The only way your gonna fit a 120mm fan on your heatsink is if you mount it with tape or something.... you cant fit a 120mm fan on that heatsink with the clips, its impossible.

Just get a nice 92mm SFII -- they kick ***

What about getting a 120mm to 80mm fan adaptor? I've seen those before but don't know if it'd work with a heatsink.

Again a 120mm to 80mm fan adaptor might eliminate that problem. The air from the 120 mm fan would be tunneled into the 80mm slot and cover up the dead spot created by the motor. I don't know if it'd work to hook a fan adaptor up to a heatsink though. Might be worth a try
