Hi

Im looking for a new card and I can see that the 1950 are quite cheaper than the 1900s...

Would it then be recommendable to go for the cheaper solution? I am not really interested in OCing. At the moment it would be a single card setup but probably will add a second one in a month or so...

And of course, purely to game like crazy

Are there any big differences between these two cards? What is your recommendation?

Thanks in advance...

If your not planning to overclock I would take the X1950 XTX, the cooling is alot better (quieter) on that card compared to the X1900 XT/XTX. If your referring to the X1950 Pro it uses another kind of cooling, not sure how it stacks up but just looking the HIS card appears to be the best.

Yeah the X1900XTXs are more expensive because they're kind of phasing out for the X1950XTXs, and thus are rare. There's no reason to buy the X1900XTX in this case.

Thanks, but performance wise aren't the XTXs better than the Pro's?

Yes :D

1950XTX-
Core: 650mhz
Mem: 1550mhz 512meg GDDR4
16 pipes with 48 shader shader processors

1950pro-
Core: 575mhz
Mem: 1380mhz
12 pipes with 36 shader shader processors

Now the last question is which one is most preferred???

- Club 3D X1950XTX
- Sapphire RADEON X1950 XTX
- MSI RX1950XTX - VT2D512E Standard Edition'

Or if you have another winner....

Thx all

HIS uses a good aftermarket made cooler on most of there cards, the stock cooling is better then even other aftermarket solutions with this cooler.
Too bad you cant find that thing aftermarket

btw.. beastiedk I would try to find the HIS XTX with the killer air cooler if your sticking with air (its that good ;) )

I've found it but the cooler seems to be the same one that others use... (but I do see it has a different cooler in the 1900XTX and looks pretty good)

I'll order this one:Hightech Excalibur ATI Radeon X1950XTX 512MB DDR4 HDTV-out DUAL DVI RETAIL PCI Express

you can see it here...
