I am getting the 1gz tbird and was wondering what the best heatsink for it is. I am also getting the kt7 with raid board. I want to spend no more than $40 on it.

I bought that combo a little over a month ago; 1ghz and Abit KT7-RAID. I bought a Global win FOP 32 before I bought the CPU, but since I ended up buying a retail pack, I am not using it. I'm saving it for when I go dual in the spring or summer(whenever those dual boards come out).

I hear the global win FOP 38 is good, or the hedgehog. The global win I bought was $22.

T-bird 1ghz@ 1.1ghz idle temp: 84F
full load: 109F

im running the same set up kt7 raid 1ghz tbird @1.206 full load temp 41C with hedgehogdelta fan arctic silver paste.
I just lapped the heatsink and (core very lite) no difference thinking about trying a swiftech

Definetly the Globalwin FOP38!! it's a sweet HSF (loud as hell 6800 RPM Delta Fan...don't put ur finger in there!)
