Aside from the obvious size and Cache differences, is there any performance or longevity difference? Is the 4x Cache worth the increase in price?

Newegg has an nice Daily deal today. These are the two I'm comparing.

performance on 2.5" mobile drives is pretty slow even with higher rpm drives.

you should see better performance from the 1tb 3.5 black.

pulled a couple reviews online of them,
the black 3.5 read / write: 150 / 136
scorpio black read / write: 122 / 119

access times:
black: 12.3ms
scorpio: black 14.7

you can find a decent 120GB SSD for under 70 bucks though use an older drive you have laying around for storage.
