no 1.8A can reach anything close to 3GHZ .......normally

mine can do 2.565GHZ stable. Most pp can do around that.

160 was fine to get into windows.......165 got me half way into windows......and 155 ran 3dmark fine no prob.....:)

This was using a Swifty with a 70cfm fan on it. Mobo has died so no testing till Wednesday and then I have a new Vapochill PE arriving hopefully next Friday.....Im hoping for about 3.5-3.6ghz.....fingers crossed :D

Hey Creat|ve, let us know how that Vapochill PE works out for you. I also hope to have my titanium by next friday :D I won't be able to sleep until I have 2.5Ghz out of my xp2400.

why should one not even bother with OEM ATI radeon 9700 pro?

lower GPU clock speed and lower memory transfer speed. If you have the $$$$$ to buy a P4 2.8 chip, i dont think you'd be hard pressed to spend the extra 30$ for a much better version of the R300 board.

Well look at the vapochill front page, [email protected]....

go buy ten 1.8A to see for yourself......that 3.2GHZ must be just for a screenshot or benchmark something like that, I don't think anyone would want to leave a 1.8A at 3.2GHZ speed 24/7, even with liquid cooling.

There are 2 c-1 stepping 1.8 CPUs running, on air, better than 3.1, one of them is higher than 3.5. Check the front page, Ed has an article about it.

Yeah, they are execptions. Try it for yourself. Good luck :)

Well of course all will not do 3.2- but htis one does. Read the thread about it, and you will see. However what I was stating was 3GHz, and it seems as a lof users can reach that with the Vapo.

My 2.8 runs stable all day long at 47c air cooled at 3361. I can post windows at 170 but lower ram timings, I can bench at 165 but at lower ram timings and hence a lower score , aggressive timings and 160 fsb is stable and gives me the best score, Its the luck of the draw with chips. some good some bad. Overall I would get another one of these in a second.

so it'll run prime 95 all night at 3361 and not give a single error?

Not real sure bro, Ive never used prime 95, what does this do.
Is this how you guys categorize stability?

From what I've been reading most P4s will crap out with VapoChill, asked Krag, he'll tell you, he crapped many cpus already... and Sorry Kray for bring this up again... The condensation will get you, and with a 1.8A i can see you risking it cause it doesn't cost a fortune, but with a 2.8 don't do it.

Well for me anyway stability means about four hours of op flashpoint, hehe and it does that just fine.
Sorry your ****ed at your rig.

Ill have to see what this prime 95 is all about, thanks for link.

Try that Prime95. It's the only thing can load my CPU to 100% all the time. For me, 24 hours Prime95 no error = real stable :)

We have done the prime debate to death at OCAU and imo if your pc does what you want it to do then its stable. Sure most of us need to back off a little from our benching speeds to achive proper 24/7 stability but so be it.

My old 2.66 would not prime at all above 3gig period. At 3gig it would prime for hours but move it above and no go. At the same time my 3dmark benches were run at 3.2gig. Then for gaming I had to tone back to 3150.

Each system is different. Sure prime can be used as a overall stability tester but each to thier own I say....:) I used to use prime as well, dont get me wrong, i like the product, I just tend to ignore it these days as 3dmarking is my main hobby :)
