I have 1 hard drive right now. It's a SATA 1 (first generation SATA drive) 160Gigs 7200rpm...Would I benefit from putting in another drive that is an
IDE drive (PATA that is)...for the storage of files?
I don't believe my board supports 2 SATA drives. And I was wondering if I would be better off after I reformat, because I don't think I can fix my malware problem . I have tried and tried to fix it. If I should reformat, should I put the OS, XP Pro on 1 drive, along w/Office 2003, and on the other drive, put my music, games, videos and such on the 2nd drive...??
If I can only have 1 SATA drive on my board, which drive should be the master w/the OS, the smaller PATA? or the larger SATA, which has more space. I'd hate to see the SATA drive be used for something and have it basically empty.
What's your take?
