I wanted to add that someone over at [H] used something he called "alligator clips"(or maybe it was vampire) which chomps down on the source wire and gives connection to the secondary wire without having to strip or splice anything.

He has successfully used 3 mobo's off of one cheapy psu as well.

I used this thread for my farm and happily have 7 mobo's running from 4 cpu's and plan on finding/using the alligator clips to go down to three psu's soon.

Farm on,

If you find them, let us know where with a linky;)

You can find those t the Rad Shack.

I don't know why I never thought of those. I always seem to do things the hard way. The only thing I would worry about there is if you end up with different guage wire between your "splice" and the original PSU.

Someone try it and let us know!

All the wires except the green and gray wires will be connected from the PSU to both mobo's. The green and gray wires will only connect from the PSU to the main mobo (the one you will turn on first). I just tape up the ends that are connected to the secondary mobo and tuck them inside some wire loom.

Hope this answers your question!

Fold On!

Thanks!

Hm....I may grab some aligator clips and try to run a couple mobo's off of one of the PSU's I ordered from directron (once my little ordering finishes...stupid newegg "bundle" deal didn't include mobo....its onyl a combo if you buy both seperately) coz I was looking forward to $63 bux for BOTH the 1800+ and the biiostar board....not 63 for the board and 36 more bux for the 1800+....coz I'll just run tbirds if I can't run SSE ont he tbred 'b's to have it 24/7 NO MONITORING stable...

Oh well,

*edit* Stymee, what you linked too weren't the aligator clips....those were things that were sort of like those "break off" ones w/the screw and stuff...plastic they come ins trips of like 8 I think..but these are aligator clips..

You could probably find em cheaper at home depot or somewhere other than the rat shack....
