Hi All

Been lurking for a while, thought i should post up this new build and some piccies

My new PC. 14 hrs of building all told and a 12 hour purging air and testing WC loop. See bottom of thread for parts list

Have done some light overclocking today, but havent really tried that hard. So far, 4.7ghz on CPU @ 75deg c, 1.35v, and 1.1ghz on GPU @ 45deg. So could be interesting where it can go when i have time to really tinker with it.

You better add at least two more 290's with that case haha. Looks good though, although, 75 sounds a little high even at 4.7.

I dont agree really, im hitting those same temps at 4,4, and 2 more 290's is even more pointless. One more would be enough, no real gain in 2 more, plus looks like single screen gaming, so even more pointless to add anything yet.

That said, looks scary that you dared to use the aluminium cooler provided by Asus, could eat your the whole loop with time, if the surface in any way is scratched. I'd consider EK's new blocks if you really feel the need to watercool the north and/or south bridge.

I was kidding with the extra 290's haha. I am aware that the scaling is not good from one to two and especially from two to three. It was just a comment about the case size more so. And that's interesting on the temps, I have never really overclocked because I would rather have silence with WC than pushing speeds, but even then, reading all around I feel like I've seen lower temps with WC at high clocks.

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking of for the temps. Disregard what I said before.

As far as silence goes, i barely here my rig. Its kind of the point with water

I really don't understand this statement. I've heard it from at least 100 people on this forum. What cools the water in a W/C system? Air. What makes the air move? Fans. What do fans make? Noise. The exact same noise that would be present on an air cooled system.

Short version, get rid of more heat with less fan speed = less noise.
