I have a brand new 2500+ Barton with new heat sink, im running around 50C during games @190fsb, so 2090MHz, how much more potential do you think I have for overclocking? what could i get up to? and wut are bad tempatures to stay away from?

What is the voltage you are running? Do you have the stock HSF? What is the max voltage the mobo allows? @ 2090 MHz, I can at least say you have a good 100-200 MHz, probably with increased voltage. As for the temperatures, 50 C. at load is not that bad. Is that the die temp?

Poor guy is getting pelted with questions. More like an interrogation....Where were you on the night of the 6th? Josebmw, I use MM5 to check my temps. Am I reading the die temp?

I'm seeing 57°C on my 2500+ (got it yesterday :D), seems to be just fine so I'm thinking it may just be reading a little high, I'll be leaving the side of my case off however. This is at stock speeds, under full load for several hours.

I wouldn't take it too much further without some kind of enhancement to your cooling solution. I wouldn't be letting this go as high as it is but... well... I'm insane. 52-55°C is as far as I'd go, absolute max, in your position IMO.

Depends, Hookj5. I would go the BIOS and see if you can find the die temp if the motherboard has it, or you might be getting temperatures from the under the socket thermistor, which is not accurate. 50 C. is ok @ full load, even if it is the die temperature, the temperature does not mean much. For instance with my watercooling I get 48 C. Max load @ 2v. That might seem too high, but it is fine. I'm sorry if I interrogated you, Neeseius, but I need to know the voltages, heatsinks and ambient temperatures to see if 50 C. is too high, which it really isnt I think.

sorry for the late responde you know how Desert Combat is... but yeah im almost positive thats a die temp, in which its running 51C at fullest fullest load. Its not a stock heat sink, its an aerocool, i got it for 35 bucks, and my voltage is 1.7v, my cpu fan runs at 2600rpms

when im off food load it is running around 45C steady.... umm....
i havent done nething with the ram cuz ive never messed with that yet, so stock ram and vid card, even the voltage on the processor is stock, oh and on the 6th i was out getting drunk :D

Which of the aerocoolers do you have? Some of them are pretty neat, and some of them are like stock coolers. Well, Neeseius, the temps seeem ok.
