Hi, I am somewhat new to overclocking. Just built an awesome PC. 2600k, asus maximus iv extreme p67 with an EK h30 supreme hf 360 water cooler. Got it overclocked to 4.5ghz with 1.34vcore, very very stable. Problem is, anything more and I get a BSOD (code 0x101 or 0x124)with multiple variations of vcore and multiplier. So far everything has booted fine, as high as 5ghz but I will get BSOD after Prime95 large FFT. Sometimes right away as in 5ghz, other times hours later with 4.6. The thing is my cpu temps are very low, never more than 61*C and that's at 4.9ghz!

After doing a little more tweaking, I've messed with the VCCIO and CPU PLL but that's only gained me 0.1ghz in stability so now anything more than 4.6ghz and it crashes. Still seems weak from others I've seen. Blend or Low FFT Prime95 seems to last a lot longer which leads me to believe I have my memory configured wrong. Is there any ideas of what else might improve stability? Thanks

I'm not a huge pro on this but certain cpus can't Oc to high clocks even with low temps find out the batch number and see if you can compare it to other people with that same number and I gotta ask Intel 4th Gen is out why 2600k rather than the 4670k

101 blue screens usually indicate more CPU voltage is needed. 124 blue screens are more related to memory, possibly more CPU VTT voltage is needed.

I disagree with 'be happy at 4.5Ghz'. I had to tweak my 2600K a fair bit to make it to 4.8. Stable for 2.5 years. I don't remember what I had to do but it was a lot more than setting the voltage and clock speed. Above 4.5/4.6 they become a pain in the *** to tweak.

You have a very good motherboard. So that isn't holding you back... Just keep playing with it.
