2x SLI GTX 660 upgrading to GTX 970?

Is it worth it? From what I can tell the upgrade would be minimal, maybe 5-10% FPS if that. I only run 1080P on a 60Hz. TV. I plan to overclock. Is it better to check out ATI? I havent owned anything other than Nvidia in forever, but I am okay with checking out ATI.

Yes, it will be worth it.
Minimum frame rates and the increase in vRAM will make a nice difference for you even though average frame rates won't go through the roof.

Also, you won't have to worry about SLI support.

You can find used 290 and 290x for around 200-225

ATI.... its been a while since they were ATI!

I concur with Janus.. maybe find a single 290x or something. But for 1080p 60Hz, there isn't a need for SLI/CFx.. I would go 970 or 290x/390x personally.

I have a GTX 970 and it works fine for 1080p, I would go for it.
