3.4e or 3.4c on air

I'm using an MSI 865 based board with a socket 478. I won't be moving to air anytime soon but would opt to use the new heatsink with heat pipes that takes a 120mm fan. I'm more interested in an upgrade from my P4 2.6c for application. Some of my applications currently take 16 minutes to complete.

Is the 3.4c more overclockable than the 3.4e? Is the 1 mb of cache an advantage of an overclocked 3.4c?

I'm really lost here as to the real world differences in performance of equivalent chips.

Any recommendations?

C for air E for h20 or better.
the prescott at 3.4ghz and up starts beating the C's in performance.

i also feel the 3.2 prescotts and up oc better than the C's
idont suggest getting a 3.4 but the 3.2 instead.
