3/8" tubing vs. 1/2" tubing

Is there going to be much of a difference b/w using 3/8" silicone tubing and 1/2" silicone tubing? I'll contemplating a Gemini High Flow Spiral block with Eheim 1260 pump. Is the smaller tubing (since Gemini only uses the 3/8" barbs) going to make a difference? Or is it wiser to go with a block that has 1/2" barbs on it so I can use 1/2" silicone tubing?

Thats why i went for the Maze 3 instead of GHV. My answer is, either route will prolly get you there. If the GHV is the best block in your mind then build your system around it.
