3/8" vs 1/2"

How much real benefit will I see by using 1/2" fittings instead of 3/8"? I'm considering buying one of the Koolance CPU blocks to use for a GPU cooler, but it's got 3/8" fittings and I'd hate to have it kill my flow rates compared to the rest of the system as a result.
