30GB Vertext not quite as fast as i expected...

It does... Tony over at OCZ recommended that i put 1.41 on it though, so i'm going to do that first chance i get (need a smaller flash drive lol)

enable write back cache? 1.41 with RAID is what I'm using (2 x30gb vertex) and am very happy.

No option to on non-RAID disks... i don't even have RAID enabled in the BIOS

You can enable write-back cache on non-raid drives... Check the drive properties. Write-back cache disabled on SSD has shown to slow the performance. I tested both, and saw a drop in about the same performance on both my Intel X25 and my Vertex.

Also, keep in mind that the 30/60gb models of Vertex are a bit slower than the 120gb model. You max at 220mb/s on the read. Expect to hit about 210mb/s. Write-back cache disabled could be why.
