Hey! You got one of the 0610 chips! Interesting that I happened to pick mine as an example.
"CCBBE 0610DPMW" in the second line of three - that's the "stepping" as we refer to it.

A lot of excellent OC'ing Opty 165's and Opty 170's came out of that week (2006, week 10). Mine is running at 323x9 (= 2907) @ 1.425v and a stock cooler. If it had better cooling I'm sure I could rev it up a few more MHz to 3.0 GHz or more. Here are some other OC results for that CPU:

http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php?p=4914674&postcount=465 (2907 @ 1.45v)
http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php?p=4888747&postcount=9 (3007 @ ???)
http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php?p=4852083&postcount=454 (2950 @ 1.55v - Opty 170)

There's even a multi-page thread devoted to them over at XS:

Like anything else there are occasional duds but they are very rare on the 0610's. Most of them will OC to 2.9 GHz without going crazy on the vCore. Hopefully your chip will fall in line with the rest of them ... :)

Well as of 10 minutes ago I Said a silent prayer and turned on my system with the OPty 165..............................Turned on with out a hitch....The only problem - if you even want to call it one - was i plugged the SATA cable in to the wrong plug at first....

Well right out of the gate she is running at 2124MHz....(I never reset the BIOS).... any-for-who. I am very optimistic that I wont have any issues with this CPU..

By the way...I thought the Opteron 165 was a Toledo core?? CPU-Z says that it is a Denmark? Never heard of a Denmark core... Well I should finish buttoning my system up... (this was typed on my laptop--- if any one cares to know)

0610DPMW is a famous stepping...if your board can handle the HTT necessary, the chip should be capable of 2.8-3.0gHz, but only a few boards can run the HTT up in the 310+ range.

IIRC Denmark was the code name for the dual-core Opteron processors but there has been a lot of dispute about the name. Some say it only applies to the s940 Opterons, others say it's all the DC Opterons. In any event, the DC 100 series Opterons have the same architecture as the 4400+, the 4800+, and the FX-60. The Opterons did go through a more rigorous testing procedure so they tend to be better CPU's ... :)
