The 4.0 final release should be on the main download page now.

Also, -forcesse and -forceSSE should be interchangeable.

What is the big gain from using 4.0? I had thought that the timed saves would end the "checksums don't match" after a crash issue, but I got home two days ago and there had been a power failure that even drained the Ups and when I rebooted I got the start from zero response as per 3.24/3.25. This is on a P4 box.

I guess it all depends if it was saving at the time when the PC dies. I've have several blackscreen hard locks and my WU managed to survive each time. I've also had hardlocks that resulted in the loss of the completed WU frames. If the saved files are deemed corrupted by the client, it won't go back to the last good save. It just dumps the work and starts from the begining. I usually just delete the WU and start a new one just in case the WU was the reason for the crash.

I hate to ask this, however...
I haven't really been keeping up with the flags these days. I'm on an [email protected], what should I use?
For forced SSE you need to use the -forceSSE tag, for forced 3DNow! you would use the old sse flag which is -forceasm. All the other flags are the same pretty much, I have grown to really like the -verbosity 9 flag as well, spits out TONS of info for you.

Excellent. :D Now, what about those P4's?
What does verbosity do? It's been a while since I've looked at all this stuff, nik, school has been killer. Perhaps it's time someone started a new guide, like Gnerma did. ;)
Anyway, I have a friend I just got folding that's on a 2.4 Celly. What should he use?

Is there any reason to upgrade atm from the 3.24 beta? 30 machines can take a while to update when you have to do them all individually.

Not until Stanford stops supporting v3.xx in the future. They give lots of warning time before they stop taking the WUs.

Just do 4 a week and you'll be done in a couple of months.
