The processor is the forthcoming EE from intel overclocked quite high (4.3ghz+), with 4 gig of DDR2 running at 800mhz and a video card from....well ........
the half giger's are coming...

be more interesting to see that ATI running on one of the newer A64 toledos with DDR1...bet 40k wont last long for stock settings ;)...

thats freakin crazy..i wonder what scores we are looking at by the end of this year..

^^^ yeah, there are a few site reporting the card being out for testing.

Now i wonder if he put ATI in their on purpose or slipped up.

This card mite just make me wanna forget about sli...

Until nVidia comes out with an equally powerful card, which is also SLI capable?

Also, 3dmark01? That's a system test, not exactly the best indicator of graphics card performance, tell me when they have some '05 benches.

^^^^ I recall their bebing rumour of an ATi card that can tae on an LI setup - sure NVIDIA will then come out with an SLI solution.

But if ATi can come out with a "single" card that can beat up the competitors top card x 2 - wait till ATi goes SLI, if they need to.

Has anyone considered that they're running two X800's in SLI or 'multi-rendering' as ATI likes to call it? They have had it in development for a while now.

I say the whole thing's BS. To hit 40k with a 4.3GHz Intel is pretty much impossible, regardless of the GPU. 3DMark2001 is a system dependant test; higher video cards will simply be bottlenecked by the CPU. Only one test really scales with the GPU, and there is no way you can gain over 10,000 marks from one test.

It evades logic for a new GPU to give such a massive gain in 3dmark2001. It's never happened before, and now that the system is a bigger bottleneck than ever (the latest cards breezing through this ancient dx8.1 benchmark) its flat out impossible.

Also makes no sense why 3dmark2001 was picked instead of a true GPU benchmark. Seems like some newbie doing a poor fake job. Funny too how it seems like I'm the only skeptic on the whole internet, but time will tell...
