The difference in performance and stability is nil since there are as far as I know no changes . All that was done is that the drivers were tested by MS and declared stable and certified .

Having certified drives is however quite important when it comes to support . Don't let software trouble shooters see beta or uncertified drivers in your system summary when asking them for help or product support . Some companies would happily blame everything on the non-WHQL'd drivers . MS themselves would frown on it as well as Nvidia . Even though there are no documented changes , if you have a problem with the old 40.72 and ask Nvidia or your vcard maker for help the first thing they will do is tell you to install supported drivers .

For us tweakers it is not that serious , but for companies , IT professionals and newbies this can be / is very important .
