423 to 478 converters

I have a dimension 8100 with a 423 1.3 p4 and was wondering if using a converter would be worth getting a higher speed cpu. Also, whats the highest p4 that will work with the 400mhz fsb and 850 chipset?

i dont know anything about converters, but the highest 400mhz fsb p4 is the 2.6, but the 2.5 is about a hundred bucks cheaper at ~250 bucks
