The new bios update (1.8) for my NF7-S allowd me to hit a 250fsb. So i made that my mission in life to hit a a 250 fsb..... and then i did.... i have never head of a fsb this high before. Could i be the highest for AMD chips?

What memory are you using? What ras/cas timing? What Vdimm?
Any Vdd chipset mod? What Vdd voltage?
What chipset cooling?
Is the system stable under 3Dmark01/03?

It only goes up to 250. And unless they up the chipset voltage its never gunna happen

I have Geil pc3200 but its way underclocked its only runnying at 240 mhz. So good thing i have dddr. Its runing at cas 2. I have a Zulman heat sink in the northbridge with a 40 mm fan and an old p1 cooler on the south bridge. The sough bridge got so hot it burned me so it was time to sink it. The Chip set voltage is at 1.7 (Highest for the board).

Are you running ASYNC with memory at 240 MHz and FSB at 250 MHz?

Geil PC3200 is rated at 200 MHz. Clocking to 240 MHz is very good overclocking for memory, not underclockded?? What Vdimm (memory voltage) you are using?

Oppainter, JCviggen and a few other guys at XS have gotten 250 many times, posted in the bandwidth sticky over at XS.

at 8rda.com, 2 guys got 250 fsb. he had it at 250*9 tho.
take a look at the forums in there quite a few got to 250 fsb.
but not with a abit NF7, that i know of, Nice job

PC3200 is suposed to run at 400 mhz but its running at 250mhz. Are there any board that you can hit a higher FSB? If so what are they.

no, pc 3200 is NOT suppose to run at 400mhz. it is supposed to run at 200mhzX2 (400mhz total). you are actually running at 250mhzX2 (500mhz total) which is quite an achievement.

break down:

pc2100: 133.33x2
pc2700: 166.66x2
pc3200: 199.99x2
pc3500: 215x2
pc3700: 230x2

PC3200 is rated to run at memory bus speed of 200 MHz. Data are transferred at the rising and falling edge of the memory bus clock, hence 400 Mb/s for each bit.

Since DDR memory bus has a datapath of 8 byte or 64 bit, so it delivers a bandwidth of 200 x 2 x 8 = 3200 MB/s at 200 MHz memory bus clock frequency. PC3200 stands for the 3200 MB/s max bandwidth when running at 200 MHz.

If indeed the mb can run at 250 MHz stable, it is faster than 99%+ of what ppl are doing now.

Is the memory running at 250 MHz DDR?

I will have them as soon as i can. my compurer is off line as for now because my network is down. 3dmard2001se, sandra, and what other benchmarks would you like to see?

I've done it too

NF7-S rev 1.2 w/ A2 NB
OCZ pc3500EL though
