I'm still getting one, but damn

Leaked potential release dates. I hope this happens and they are actually available. I'm ready and excited to get new folding rigs up and running next year. I'm just worried it will turn into a long period of scalping.

Note that Europe, like most of the world, are priced inclusive of sales tax. If you want a USD equivalent without tax, you need to take that into consideration.

ahhh yes, VAT tax. I forget about that. I still feel like it will be more expensive than the 4090, $1900 isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

I wonder if PX/BX post exchanges on military bases will get these in too when they drop…

If you serve, are an ID card vet with access… or “know a guy” that does… that’s tax free right there 🤙

but why?

i mean... i guess. Seems like a bad value, spending $2000 on a single GPU just for some internet points. For that kind of money you could probably buy a bunch of used laptops with MAX-Q gpus and not only get more points but do so with crazy efficiency in the same power envelope.

This is the internet points forum. If you want to be competitive, you're going to have to spend some money.

The lap tops are not as efficient as they claim to be. My 4060 mobile uses 100w to make 2-3m PPD. My main rig uses 460w to make 18-22m. On top of that laptops with good cards are extremely expensive.

Yeah... laptops aren't the way for [email protected] least not to replace a discrete GPU. Those are whole systems you need to buy for the GPU ($$). Using his info, it would take 7 of those laptops (@ 700W) to equal one RTX 4090 (450W ~21M PPD in Windows). If you can find 7 4060m laptops for under $2000, that's cool, but it would still be less efficient by quite a bit (250W more) and that's not counting for the effort of managing 7 different systems compared to just one.

Some people shoot for high FPS, some people shoot for the most PPD. Either way, it's expensive at the top.

i just cant justify $2000 for that, but you do you. I will keep pumping out points on my modest gaming cards.
Its more efficient to spend $2000 on one card than 10 cards at 200. The 10 cards would use WAY more power and produce the same or less PPD.

I got a killer deal on the laptop a year ago, paid $630. They just are not efficient in wattage or price.

Im already limited by my 200A service so trust me I understand, but thankfully I pay TVA prices so my bills are reasonable all things considered.

What are we talking about? Confusion...o_O Not the Transform and lighting, the reference to it in this thread.
Not a friggin clue. I haven't heard that term in.......a decade or two, lol. Google says NV supported that since 99, sooo......

.......I'm also wondering about the relevance... :sly: ...

They will sell out fast and soon will be "available" at $2500+. But if people are buying, it's an easy for for scalpers to make money...
It reminds me on a Powder morning at Jackson Hole. On the Tram ride up my friend Marc said he had great advice for sking deep powder. Knowing I would rather be able to see as it was a white out. I thought it would be advice on keeping your Goggles clear.

Instead we got to a ledge ready to jump off with 90 other people and he jumps off first before I have adjusted my Goggles and laughs and yells "My advice in powder is to be FIRST" as he made some first tracks.

My advice is be first. Hard to do online, a little easier at a brick and mortar.
