Anyone done a comparison? Any opinions?
Seeing that 2 4890's are cheaper than 1 5870(and you can't find a 5870) I was wondering what the benching performance difference would be..

It is somewhat difficult to find benchmarks that compare 5870 vs. 4890 crossfire, however the 5870 is commonly compared against the 4870x2.

Most benchmarks show the 5870 and the 4870x2 to be pretty neck and neck, so i'd say it would be a fair bet to say that 4890's in Crossfire would be consistently faster than a 5870.

But not by much.

I think the crossfired 4890s would probably be a 5% increase over a single 5870, and yep most reviews are showing the 5870 to be equal to a 4870x2.

They are about the same, the only reason to go 5870 is to have DX11.

I would wait till the prices drop and DX11 games to be released. No reason to upgrade now.
