Is there much difference in performance between a 60-80mm fan adapter and a 60-92mm fan adapter?

With a 92 you get more cfm at lower noise levels. i dont know if there would be any conflicts with a funnel though. Ask people that are using the adapters. You might not get a better temp just lower noise.

I intend to get me an alpha pal8045 with a 80 to 92 mm fan adaptor for a 125 or 131 cfm tstech fan !!! :D

Edit :OOPS ........ mistake I want a 80 mm to 120 mm adaptor for a ystech fan :D

I made my own 92-->60 that also works as a duct to pull fresh air into the case from my side panel. Rubber pvc 4inch to 3inch pipe adapter, $5 at a hardware store.

adapters

Yes, they inhibit airflow. I have no way of measuring, so I couldn't tell ya, or even guess as to how much. Get a high volume fan if you're going to "neck down" with an adapter.

The good thing is an adapter shoud compress the airstream, gettin rid of the dead spot under the hub and cooling the entire heatsink.

Very interesting this 120mm - 80mm adapter, never seen one before. :) A while back I suspended a 120mm Panaflo over my Alpha PAL8045 with double back sticky 3M tape and attached a 1" aluminum shroud to funnell air to and around the hs. Works okay, no problems, but now I can't help but wonder how this adapter might do. Like to hear from anyone who uses it. Thanks.

yo get the 80mm adapter... while it is more noise than a 92, it cools better... on a coolermaster heatpipe, i had a delta 38 60mm and got around 40LOAD, i switched to a 92mm fan adapter w/ a 56cfm panaflow and got 49 load

If plycon will accept my international order .............. I'll send for a 120 - 80 mm one with a 137 CFM ystech plus the Alpha in a few days . That should give me the best cooling short of water of vapor phase soloutions .
