How much faster will x86 Vista processing be over windows XP, will it be faster because it's using all 64 bits?

64 bit vista may be a bit faster than 32 bit vista. vista in general will probably be slower than XP 32 bit or 64 bit, just because it uses a lot more system resources.

Some applications can benefit from 64-bit operations more then others. One such thing is encryption which works with very large numbers. I don't think there is any way to know how much the benefit will be just yet, probably not huge for day to day things (but having 64bit capability on your processor can mean you can install the follower of vista)

32bit will be faster from what i have seen as of right now...
Mainly because we have a MAJOR lack of 64bit drives never mind 32bit ones are lacking..... and most apps are still 32Bits...

Give it a year or so and i am sure 32bits will be better.

Just look at the migration from 16bit apps to 32bits.
