In a recent press release, EKWB announced an all-new direct die cooling solution for Intel's 12th and 13th-generation Core processors. Direct Die Cooling (DDC) requires the user to remove the Integrated Heat Sink (IHS) from the processor and then replace the Thermal Interface Material (TIM). The direct die cooler is then installed without the IHS and can significantly improve temperatures. EKWB's DDC kits come with an EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB (Limited Edition or Nickel and Plexi) CPU water block, delidding tool, EK-Exact Mount and ILM replacement die guard, Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal, and two foams for preventing liquid metal spillage. Pricing is not as bad as you might think with the Nickel and Plexi kit coming in at just under $300 before tax and shipping. Pre-ordering has already begun and shipping is expected to start in mid-February 2023. For complete details and pricing, please read EKWB's press release below.
