I was the person who alerted this site about the 8K7A. I was not doing it to bash the motherboard. I own this board and and another Epox board and they both work fine, and I highly recommend them. I just wanted to let folks know that there can be some issues with this motherboard overclocked or not. This board is in no way a peice of junk and I don't think the folks at overclockers.com posted this to bash the board. It was just to let folks know there can be problems with some boards. If you have a quality power supply then you should be all set. these problems were occuring in non overclocked boards as well as overclocked ones. If you drop a heavy CPU into one and run a geforce card and have lots of goodies in your box you are going to put a strain on the powerplant if its not AMD approved. There were other minor issues with DVD playing and printers that were also addressed as far as I can remember these problems were also not solely caused by folks cranking up their boards
I do not consider myself a hardcore overclocker either but I found the information informative. I'm glad I went with a quality power supply now that I have read how hungry this board can be. I also know where I stand with this board and what might happen if I do start to feel froggy about turning up the juice a bit much

I find lots of articles on this site and others that are out of my league, I'm not insulted by them I just get what I need to know from them if anything and move on. I'm quite happy at the level I'm at now but its nice to read about some of the crazy stuff folks do with their boxes.
The whole article on AMDWORLD is still in support of this board if you read the very beginning of it. It was posted to help discourage people from not buying the board because of some very fixable issues. Granted some of the fixes might be a bit radical for some including myself but that does not mean you have to use the radical ones. The problems stated in the article were not solely the problems of radical hardcore overclockers, stock board users can have similar problems I feel the attention to this article was justified and it's just up to the reader to sort it out and see what pertains to them and what doesn't.
I'm sorry you feel the way you do. It was not my intention to alert the the users of this site about this board so that it could be bashed and made out to be a peice of junk. I did not gather that from the main page link here nor the AMDWORLD article. I am very happy with my epox boards and I try to share as much information with other users of these boards so that they may continue to enjoy using this product and fix potential problems which might lessen their opinion of epox boards. Lots of problems have easy fixes and if the masses don't hear about it then they are quick to condemn a board as you have pointed out. My intention was to prevent that and the AMDWORLD article does its best to still praise this board. I quote from the very beginning of the article :
"In defence....
The EPOX EP-8K7A motherboard which was recently reviewed here at amdworld had gained some rather debatable issues and instability .The next few paragraphs will try to help you eliminate those and any thoughts of fear when purchasing this excellent motherboard. "
What they stated above was what my worry was and it was my intent to provide fellow users a link to a resource to help calm their concerns and identify and fix issues if they had them.
