8RDA+ very bizzare issue - RESOLVED!!!

i am building a completely new system. Epox 8RDA+, AMD 2600, (2) Kingston Hyper X dimm, Ti4200 128 DDR (short card).

upon putting everything together i took my tower to a friend to set up and tweak the BIOS. He set it up and i brought my system back home to install the OS. As soon as i fired it up, my monitor didnt want to recognize a signal coming out. So i powered it off and back on and all i was getting was quickly scrolling text from the bios.
thought there may be some issue with the vid card, so i sent it back. while waiting for a replacement i put in another brand ti4200 and got the same result, quickly scrolling text.
ok...so...must be mobo, right?!? ordered a replacement mobo and recieved the new vid card and new mobo today. put them back in my case and...the exact same result as before... unreadable quickly scrolling text!
im at a loss. i have had 3 of my computer science grad friends take a look at it to no avail.

any thouhgts?!?

thx!

i have cleared the bios several times. the second board, i just put in yesterday, upon post began with the exact same problem.

i know this option sounds REALLY odd, but, since the first mobo did post correctly once at a friends place and not back at my place with my monitor and the new second mobo doing the same at my place...has anyone ever heard of a conflict with a monitor?!? i know this sounds crazy, but im at wits end. its a fairly new (1.5 to 2 years old) 19" KDS crt. i know this dosent make sense, but after putting in a new mobo and vid card yesterday and having the same results...i just dont know.

thx

my son has a kds monitor.I decided i would upgrade his old 750 t-bird to an old 1500 i wasn't using. It would boot but freeze right there on startup screen,no more.i put the old 750 back in and same thing.i had it hooked up to my monitor, but still,,,Anyway he took it back home and it worked fine.i dont know why it wouldnt work here, just weird.

resolved this issus....well, at least figured out what was wrong...

ok...this has been so odd, that i feel i must share this with you for reference...

after sending back 1 vid card and 2 mother boards i decided to take it over to a friends house after installing the 3rd mobo with exactly the same results (thinking it may be either my monitor or something with my power voltage or my house being cursed...dunno...just firing it up somewhere other than here), after getting it there, it fired right up with no issues at all.

i have come to realize that it is my KDS VS 190-is that is not taking the siginal from my new system (evertime i tried to boot, i would get quickly scrolling background images). i have hooked up an extremely old 15" HP monitor to it now and working fine (with exception of the crappy 15" HP monitor). this is something that i have never heard of, having a conflict with a plug and play monitor. i am writing this now from the KDS hooked back into my old system.

new comp:
Win XP
AMD T-bred 2600
(2) 512 Kingston Hyper X 2700
Thermaltake 420 watt (having issues with, using Sparkle 350 watt)

and these which think the conflicts may be occuring with:
Epox 8RDA+ motherboard or the
Albatron Ti 4280 128 DDR video card

i have tried a Palit Ti 4200 also with the same results.

i have tried setting the refresh rate as low and as high as i can with the same results (scrolling images)...
i have tried installing the latest drivers from KDS with my HP monitor installed, but XP wont allow it.

very strange...just thought i would share it for futher reference...

actually figured it out...
my KDS VS 190 IS monitor had a strange pin layout, called KDS and they told me to yank out the 2nd pin from the right (with long row on top), did it and now working fine (after buying a new 19" monitor of course... )

but thats ok...now running dualies :)

SORRY EPOX!!!!!!!!!!!!
