9500 Non Pro benchmark results after software mod - included a 9500 Pro for reference

The mod works, however your mileage may vary - my 9500 non Pro ran just as fast in 3DMark2001 as a friend's 9500 Pro on a faster CPU - he's got an Athlon XP 1800+, I have an Athlon 1600+

The fill rates for single and multi-texturing doubled, which shows it unlocked the remaining 4 pixel pipelines on the card. I have the Sapphire Technologies red PCB board with 128MB. It's in the L shaped pattern, and has the Infineon 3.3ns spec memory modules.

Here's the results, for an Athlon Xp 1600+, 133mhz FSB with 1GB of PC 2700 Samsung memory on 1024x768 with 32bit color:
3D Marks - 8969
Car Chase Low Detail - 114.3 fps
Car Chase High Detail - 37.5 fps
Dragothic Low Detail - 175.1 fps
Dragothic High Detail - 98.4 fps
Lobby Low Detail - 114.3 fps
Lobby High Detail - 51.2 fps
Nature - 59.5 fps

Fill Rate (SIngle Texturing) - 927.1 MTexels/s
Fill Rate (SIngle Texturing) - 1103.5 MTexels/s
High Polygon Count (1 Light) - 48.8 MTriangles/s
High Polygon Count (8 Lights) - 13.4 MTriangles/s
Environment Bump Mapping - 139.8 fps

This was all on Low Detail - on High Detail, scores were slightly higher: 9133 3DMarks, with slight increases in frame rates.

My friend's 9500 Pro with an Athlon XP 1800+, 133FSB and 512MB of PC 2100 DDR on 1024x768 with 32bit color:
3D Marks - 10141
Car Chase Low Detail - 131.2 fps
Car Chase High Detail - 43.6 fps
Dragothic Low Detail - 200.6 fps
Dragothic High Detail - 111.4 fps
Lobby Low Detail - 123.9 fps
Lobby High Detail - 54.5 fps

Fill Rate (SIngle Texturing) - 1563.0 MTexels/s
Fill Rate (SIngle Texturing) - 2171.3 MTexels/s
High Polygon Count (1 Light) - 51.2 MTriangles/s
High Polygon Count (8 Lights) - 13.9 MTriangles/s
Environment Bump Mapping - 232.9 fps
DOT3 Bump Mapping - 137.1 fps
Vertex Shader - 143.7 fps
Pixel Shader - 186.9 fps
Advance Pixel Shader - 155.0 fps
Point Sprites - 29.1 MSprites/s

Bought the card through BananaPC.com since newegg didn't have any at the time - cost was $158 including s+h. The mod definitely unlocks the remaining 4 pixel pipelines (near doubling of fill rates).... too bad I didn't have a faster CPU, since it scaled well when I bumped up the FSB and was running the CPU at 1800+.... not bad at all....
Last comment - this mod is only from changing the atimag.sys file that I obtained from:
http://www.maxdownloads.com/~ian/wizzard/
