9500 Pro /9700Pro ?

Is a modded 9500 Pro a true 9700 Pro?
Like the one in the above link?
My 9500 Pro with the bios mod so I can overclock it,even though it says it is now a 9700 Pro after overclocking is it really,I was told it was the same as if I bought a 9700 Pro.Is this true?

From my understanding, when you get a successful mod on a 9500 card, it makes it the same as a 9700, not a 9700 pro. I believe that the reason for this is that the 9500 wont generally reach 9700 PRO speeds. I have a Saphire 9500 modded to 9700 and only get 320/307 OC on it and I think that a 9700 PRO is much higher.

That makes sence ,mine only goes 355/315 with Infineon 3.0 memory.16200 is all I can get so far in 3D Marks,but I want 20000

the 9700pro is only clocked at 325/310 so u are not that far off u should try flashing it with a 9700pro bios i could up my ram 30mhz more after

No it is not.

A 9500Pro only has a 128bit memory interface whereas a 9700Pro/NP has a 256bit memory interface. Look at the difference in the memory arrangement on the 9500Pro and 9700Pro/NP. Notice the 9500Pro has the memory chips in a straight line. That indicates a 128bit memory interface.

Your card appearing as a 9700Pro is really meaningless.

But in looking at your score I wonder if you really have a 9500Pro. 16+K is very high for that card.
