9600xt vs 9700 help

For the 9600 to match the 9700's polygon capabilities it has to be at slightly over 475 core, which it exceeds, and for it to match its texturing capabilities it has to be at 650mhz which I doubt it can reach. For the ram to be matched you need to be at 1300mhz because its only 128bit and has half the bandwidth per clock.

What im trying to say is, the 9600 *might* edge it out in pure polygonal stuff, but when you apply textures and AA the 9700 pulls ahead fast.

You guys might want to reconsider those statements after reading this review:

Unless you have a top of the line card, I wouldn't expect to run games at 1600x1200. At 1024x768 and even 1280x1024 with AA and AF, the 9600 XT is better or as good, even at stock speeds, as the 5700. Not to mention if you order one (retail version) before the 31st, you're guaranteed HL2. I got my 9600 XT recently and I'm very satisfied with it.
