I was just playing the new Freedom Force and after I shut the game down, the desktop display was all messed up (a bunch of pink lines and stuff going through it). I tried rebooting and got the same problem, and even had some artifacts in the boot screen. Then I tried another video card in my box and everything was fine.

Anyway I guess this thing is toast, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I could try before tossing it out and buying another card (which is a real shame because I was waiting for the next A64 steppings to upgrade the whole system and get a pci express card).

Rebooting wont help some times... turn off the pc for like 10sec, then turn it back on.

clean the agp connection part, clean out the vga dealy, and check ur cooling on it. if your watercooling and some water got on it, it can cause that with subsequent corrosion of the contacts (get contact cleaner if you like). If you find the cooling was bogus, it may have toasted your card... bummer. gl

try reformat i had the same thing happen to me it was windowss doing the dirty work i even saw artifacts in the windows load screen

boot screen=windows load screen right? not bios if bios id say it is toast and last thing u could try is cleaning the agp connection

I had pulled the card out and cleaned the dust off the agp area and the card. There was some dust but not a great deal as I clean it all out every few months or so.

Unfortunately it's not a Windows problem because the card does the same thing on another computer, and some lines do come up during the first bios screen when I turn the computer on. :(

Yeah he was a good card, I'll be in mourning for a while.

Out of desperation for a new card I just picked up a 6600GT though. Man do I hate these nVidia drivers...
