My stock GPU voltage was 1.509 V. I did the volt mod with 10kohm resistor, and now get 1.576 V. The max clock I can get with zero artifacts in 3Dmark03 is 354. I feel that is pretty low. Anything higher and I get snow in test 3, above the windows. Is it heat, or voltage that is likely my limiting factor?

My gpu information is:

R300
215R8CBGA 13F
G24720.1
0235AA

I am planning on doing the volt mod with a smaller resistor to get a better overclock once I get better cooling (maze-4 gpu in the mail).

I pulled off the shim and reapplied thermal grease on the gpu and heatsink. The heatsink is very warm, even during 2d operation.

After doing the Volt mod I decided to check my ref and mem voltages. I get Vmem = 2.945 V and Vref = 1.407 V.

My memory is spec'ed at 350 Mhz with nominal 2.8 V, so I am very disappointed with the performance of my memory. The max I have gotten out of it without texture corruption or checkerboarding in 3DMark03 is 335 MHz. Am I going to need RAm heatsinks or a Vmem mod (both?) to get better performance here?

My case cooling is good, with an 80mm intake at front bottom, an 80mm intake blowing directly onto the video card from the side, and an 80mm exhaust at top rear, as well as PSU exhaust.

Right now I am at 19,000 3dmark01 and 5,700 3Dmark03, and would like to hit 20,000 and 7,000 respectively. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I wouldn't even have added any voltage with the stock cooling.

All you can really do is play with all the voltages and see what you can do.. there is another voltage too, vddq.

You won't be seeing 7k in 03, the score in my sig is about as high as they come.

My hardware is similar to yours. My 2.4c is a little slower, and I have KHX PC3000 2 x 512, IC7. It loks like you've gotten all the performance out of your hardware.

I had heard that the Vref mod had a large possibility of burning up my card. I was going to start with Vmem and Vgpu.

Do you have RAM heatsinks or anything on your card? What is your modded Vgpu and Vmem?

hm,artifacts on my modded 9500 have always been caused by overheating(stock cooling).
with a better cooler,my max core,was limited by system freezes(not enough voltage),never seen artifacts,with a good cooling...

so,get yourself a nice cooling solution, and everything should work fine.

i m using on vgpu and vdim 7,5 k ohm resistors,vdim is about 3,2 volt atm,and gpu about 1,62

Vref is dangerous if you raise it too high.. on mine though it raised extremely slow with resistance changes. More than 1.5 could be fatal.

I do have ramsinks.

Your voltages are kind of weird. Here are mine.

Vcore stock- 1.5
Vcore mod - 1.85

Vdd stock - 2.75
Vdd mod - 3.1

Vref stock - 1.24
Vref mod - 1.45

Vddq stock - 2.85
Vddq mod - 3.06
