9700 PRO vs TI 4600

Ok so i wanna build another maxed out machine. I know the specs on the 9700 pro pretty well: AGP 8x support, 325/310
128megs, 256 memory bus, quad pipelines, and other stuff.

As far as the ti4600 i'm not to sure, Let me try to remember
650 gpu, 2x350mhz 64ram=128 NOw as far as the memory bus, it's 256 right? But anyways, screw the specs, Any benches which is better? Overall considering drivers, life expectansy and all that stuff?
Oh yah and sorry if someone has already posted this, fealing to lazy to search today.

Gf4ti4600 memory is 128bit

The Radeon 9700 will have a much longer life than a Ti4600. The Radeon 9700 supports DX 9, has much more memory bandwidth, and is just generally a faster card. I would go with that if I was you.

Did you say 650 on the GPU? I think not. Anyhow, the 9.7K is way better in every benchmark I think. Plus as other stated, it will last you much longer!

o yha and as fas as geforce, they have plans for a geforce 5? Or anything newer than the ti4600, in terms of gaming

Yeah it's the NV30 (code name, like R9700).

You might want to get a faster processor first if you want to utilize more juice from the Radeon.

Ya a 1.4 will probably bottlneck that R9700. Upgrading the proc would probably do alot for you if you do get a R9700.

Well, I'm getting a 9700 pro tommorow - finally - yay! As far as processor / agp bottlenecks, a 2Ghz processor will be a bottleneck for the radeon9700. If you look at the benches on the radeon for different platforms, you can see that with the latest processors (2.8Ghz @ time of writing) you're getting about 13000 plus on 3dmark. With my processor(s) - dual 2Ghz MP's, I'm probably going to be looking at the best part of 11000 if I'm lucky. Could be wrong though. I'll post and tell you. By the way, my current 3Dmark rating is around 6800-7000. (geforce3 - original, not a Ti.)

the 9700 is far more advanced then the ti's get the 9700. or wait the market always changes as soon as you thought you have the best thing.
