9700Pro or 9800??

What do you think I should get. I like the price of the 9700Pro esp, because you get 8pipelines of rendering, unlike the 9600.

But 9800 series, are sooo expensive.

Give me your input people as to which one is best bang for your dollar. Incidentlally I have had my nVidia GeForce2GTS for a bit over 3 rys, and it has really lasted through all the changes in gaming technology.

Will the 9700Pro last as long do people think?

Yes, the 9700 Pro will last a long while, at LEAST another year or two without having to worry about turning down the detail settings.

If you can squeeze out the extra cash, the 9800 will go a lot farther, it has much better overclocking potential than the 9700 pro. Most 9800's can easily overclock to pro speeds. Just make sure you don't get a 9800SE those only have 4 rendering pipelines. Get the non-pro.

I would go with the 9800np. Even though it's slightly slower than the 9700 pro at stock speeds, it won't make a visible difference. Also, if you ever do overclock it, then the 9800np would be better.
