Tom's Review

Reviews most of the current cards on the market. Things to remember when buying a card: Clock speed is nice but if it doesn't have the bandwidth it won't play as well (aka 9600), 256mb of RAM is nice but currently overkill, DX9.0, don't buy SE cards.

ATI(DirectX)
ATI Value Card: 9600 ($110-$190)
ATI PowerCard: 9800 ($260-$450)

NVIDIA(OpenGL)
NVIDIA Value Card: 5700 ($150-$210)
NVIDIA PowerCard: 5900/5950 ($220-$450)

*Prices are about what one might expect to pay from non pro to XT/U at NewEgg.com

*ATI 9500 128mb is better than 9600 for current games but hard to find
ATI 9200 and NVIDIA 5200 are Cheaper than listed value card but have poor quality for gamers.
Geforce 4 Ti series are good cards but are not DX9.0
