Our folding team needs some help. We are currently running with record setting averages for the last 6 months :comp: and yet we are getting stomped on. We are making preparations to take production to an all new level. The team that has us in their sights is currently outproducing us by 200%.

This December we are going all out, and while I have every confidence in our folding team to hit max efficiency, I would feel alot better with some extra support. :grouphug:

I understand that we have called on your service in the past, and we were greatly appreciative and honor of all the dedication and help you guys have given. :salute: I understand these are tough times and wallets are empty. I understand that you have your own goals and dreams (heck I crunched seti for a number of years, I know what it's all about), Yet the folding team is in a desperate pinch and we can't do this without the whole OC DC community unified together.

All I can ask of you is your moral support, (i'm ashamed to ask of anything more )
So please, drop by the folding forum and cheer us on as we struggle to fight off the massive army that has come knocking on our door and cheer us on as we struggle to overtake our long standing rivals (OCAU) we've desired to overtake for years.

We are also running a contest through the month of December. We would be more than happy if you wanted to join our contest.

ThankYou So much guys and Happy Holidays!

Hmm. I've never messed around with FAH before, but after a look through the stickies, I have the uhh.. MPICH2 SMP client running on my 24/7 laptop for the time being, and I've installed the HFM.NET client viewer, but have no idea if its working -_- I see 4 instances in windows task mangler, but I have no idea how long each WU will take. So I'll leave this thing connected to the net until I get home from work tomorrow, hopefully that'll at least let me know how many % is completed so I can work out how long I can keep this thing off the net between upload/download of new WU :p

Anyway, not sure how much this thing will help (AMD X2 TL-52 [1800mhz*2]), but hopefully it will. Lets pass those Aussies :p

I always join in for the Chimp Challenge and it's a great time.

I'm at work right now, so I've started the GPU2 program on my 9500GT ~1700PPD.
If I have time when I get home, I'll switch over one of my rigs to GPU2 as well. I'm not getting much SETI work right now for one of my rigs. ~25k PPD if I move Rig 2 over. I'll keep GPU folding until you guys pass OCAU.

I just got F@h GPU console on both of my 4890's and everything is confirmed to be functioning nominally. Once the Rosie Contest is over, you get my GPU's.

I've got a new ATI card sitting idle since SETI is not producing work units that it can crunch. I'll be looking for instructions on setting up a GPU only FAH when I get home from Thanksgiving. No sense in it sitting idle when another OCF team can use it.

I'm not on the SETI team but since you mention.. I've tried folding. It's just too much of a pain in the *** to set up and getting running the way I'd want it to. Multiple clients, confusing configuration, hard to shut it off, and so on. If there was a single program I could install that would just let me check off when to run CPU and GPU folding operations, I'd be fine with running it. Last I checked, there wasn't :-/

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just set up some of my rigs to run the GPU2 client yesterday. When I woke up this morning, 2 out of 8 GPU's were still crunching. Everything's back up now.

Hmm. Well, looks like my laptop is worth 530 PPD, if I run 24/7 lol. No idea if that's good or not, but in SETI terms it gets ~1100 RAC.

I'm actually enjoying folding, tbh >_>; If my WU cache on my main rig runs out (just reported 295 WU this morning, got 210 left, so about 1.5days) before SETI is back to sending out fresh work, I'll chuck on the GPU2 client and see how that goes. That rig gets ~12500 RAC, so if its a linear-ish relationship between RAC->PPD, then I'm guessing that it'll get me ~5000 PPD lol.

Cool fun!

I have a small ATI card that I just cranked up to help you all out some. It is not much but it will help. We cant use them on SETI yet so well might as well help team 32 with them.

IDK I am using AN ATI Radeon HD 4850 (RV770) 512mg that came stock on an I7 I bought. I have a GTX 260 OC2 to replace it with for seti but I guess I have been to lazy to replace it.

AMD/ATI

1.If you have a ATI GPU, the requirement is to be compatible with CAL and this mean that any card from X2xxx (R6xx) series and above can run any CAL application. This also means that unfortunately, X1xxx and older is not compatible because the shaders architecture is not unified.
2.ATI driver supported for folding is currently the Catalyst 8.7 (or newer) that you can find it here. To update the driver, it's suggested that you uninstall the old driver, reboot then install the new driver.

This is off of their support page kind of greek to me because I dont really know much about ATI cards.
