I had to buy a cable for my sansa fuze recently since I lost the only one I had (proprietary connections FTL). Turns out some nut at the factory wired it wrong and it was shorting out whatever I connected it to. :screwy:

So instead of getting ready for school this morning, I had to spend an hour striping the cables by hand (USB cables are almost impossible to strip, might I add) and finding out how to wire the blazed thing to get it right. Luckily it's all working now.

I am in agreement about the very cheapest cables. They usually have horrible build quality.

However, for certain things where the cable is not going to move, they can be alright.

I generally go for the mid-range cables when buying cables.
